Methodology

How Prosper Factory evaluates brokers, platforms and investing tools: criteria, risk-first approach, and update policy.

Prosper Factory publishes educational content. We do not provide personalized investment advice.

What we evaluate

Our reviews and comparisons focus on decision criteria, not “promises”:

  • Product scope: stocks/ETFs, crypto, CFDs/derivatives, leverage exposure.
  • Total cost: fees, spreads, FX costs, withdrawals, inactivity fees where applicable.
  • Friction: onboarding, KYC, deposits/withdrawals, support responsiveness.
  • Safety basics: account security, 2FA, email hygiene, and custody tradeoffs for crypto.
  • Limitations: what the product doesn’t do (or for whom it’s a bad fit).

Risk-first approach

Tools can improve execution and reduce mistakes, but they don’t remove risk.

We try to make risk explicit when a product involves:

  • leverage,
  • derivatives/CFDs,
  • custody risk or counterparty risk,
  • unclear fee structures.

How we handle claims, pricing, and updates

Products and pricing can change. We aim to:

  • separate facts (features, fees as published) from opinions (fit for a use case),
  • mark uncertainty when needed,
  • update key pages when we detect meaningful changes.

Some pages include affiliate links. If you click and later purchase or sign up, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you.
